Abstract:These Recommendations describe essential elements of the design of a secure physical true random number generator (PTRNG) integrated in an electronic device. Based on these elements, we describe and justify requirements for the design, validation and testing of PTRNGs, which are intended to guarantee the security of generators aimed at cryptographic applications.
